Registered Agent Annual Fee › Agent fee vs report fee
Registered agent annual fee vs annual report fee
Three charges get blended into one. Keep them apart and most letters stop making sense.
- Agent fee
- Paid to your registered agent for the year of service. Mainstay Filing: $149 alone, or inside the $199 package. Competitors range $34.99 to $596 in year one (read October 2026).
- State report fee
- Paid to the state: $7 to $500, or nothing where there is no LLC report. State fees are passed through at cost and shown before you pay.
- Report-filing charge
- What a provider adds to prepare and file the report for you. At Mainstay Filing it is inside the package. At Northwest Registered Agent it is $100 on top of the state fee, as its page reads October 20, 2026. The agent-only plan does not include the report: A registered agent alone, for a company that is already formed, is $149 a year. That plan does not include the annual report.
A letter that bundles all three into one number is selling the third.
